Q. Is anesthesia safe for pets? What precautions does Thonglor Pet Hospital take?

A: When performed correctly, veterinary anesthesia is highly safe. Thonglor Pet Hospital follows a 4-step protocol for every case requiring sedation:

1. Pre-anesthetic blood panel — evaluates kidney and liver function to assess risk before administering any anesthesia

2. Assessment by an anesthesia specialist — selects the appropriate drug type and dosage based on the patient's weight, age, and medical history

3. Continuous monitoring throughout sedation*— using SpO₂ monitor, ECG, blood pressure, and body temperature equipment

4. Post-anesthesia recovery care — veterinarians and nurses monitor the patient until full recovery

Q. Why is a specialty animal hospital more expensive than a regular clinic? Is it worth it?

A:  The cost at Thonglor Pet Hospital includes what most general clinics do not offer:

1. 23 specialist disciplines with dedicated trained vets Each center has doctors with formal specialty training: cardiologists, neurologists, ophthalmologists, dermatologists, oncologists — not general practitioners managing all conditions.

2. Hospital-grade diagnostic equipment MRI 1.5 Tesla, CT Scan 128 Slice, Digital X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Laparoscopy — enabling accurate diagnosis from the first visit and reducing repeat treatments.

3. Dedicated anesthesiologist for every surgery A specialist anesthesia team monitors every procedure,

4. 24-hour ICU and Critical Care Supports post-operative and critical cases with veterinary staff on duty through the night.

Accurate diagnosis from the start typically reduces long-term treatment costs compared to repeated misdiagnosis at lower-cost clinics.
