Diagnostic Services

The Dermatology and Allergy Center (TDAC) utilizes specialized diagnostic tools and methodologies to ensure precise identification of conditions, down to the cellular level.

  • Intradermal Skin Test - IDST : Directly identifies environmental allergens (e.g., dust mites, pollen, grasses) by injecting small amounts into the skin. Results are immediate and are used to formulate personalized allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT).
  • Clinical Cytology : Microscopic examination at the cellular level to diagnose infections, assess hair follicle health, and identify yeast, bacteria, fungi, or parasites such as Demodex and ear mites
  • Allergy Blood Testing (ELISA) : Detects specific antibodies responding to allergens. Blood samples are processed by internationally accredited laboratories to ensure the highest reliability.
  • Digital Otoscope : Provides a high-definition view of the ear canal and eardrum. This tool is utilized for thorough ear flushing and non-anesthetic removal of irritating foreign objects.
  • Punch Biopsy : A minimally invasive procedure to collect skin samples for diagnosing complex skin diseases or identifying tumor types, often performed with local anesthesia rather than general anesthesia.
Medical Care & Treatment

At TDAC, we focus on targeted treatments to effectively manage dermatological conditions and significantly enhance your pet’s quality of life.

  • Personalized Immunotherapy (Allergy Shot) : A specialized treatment for atopic dermatitis aimed at reducing long-term dependency on medication. This program involves a series of injections tailored to the specific allergens identified during testing.
  • Phovia Chromotherapy : An innovative fluorescent light therapy that penetrates the dermal layers to reduce inflammation and accelerate the healing of chronic skin lesions and wounds.
  • Cryotherapy & Regenerative Support : Utilizing specialized cryo-technology to reduce pain and inflammation. This is often integrated with Exosome therapy to strengthen the skin barrier and treat specific dermatological disorders.
  • Therapeutic Laser Therapy : Effective for managing chronic inflammation, pressure sores, or infected wounds involving multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria, helping to alleviate pain and stimulate tissue repair.
  • Nutritional Management & Food Trials : Expert dietary counseling and structured food trials to diagnose and control food allergies that cause pruritus (itching), redness, and hair loss.

FAQ

Q : How do I know if my dog has a food allergy or environmental allergy?
A :

Food allergies commonly cause year-round itching especially around the face, paws, and belly, often with gastrointestinal signs. Environmental allergies often worsen seasonally. An elimination diet and allergy testing can differentiate between them. Tel. 02-079-9999

Q : What is allergy testing in pets?
A :

Allergy testing (intradermal or serum testing) identifies the specific allergens that trigger your pet's immune response, enabling targeted immunotherapy to reduce sensitivity over time.

Q : Can a pet’s allergies be permanently cured?
A :

Allergies are typically managed rather than permanently cured, but allergen-specific immunotherapy (allergy shots) can substantially reduce symptoms and reduce reliance on medication in many patients

Q : Why does my dog keep getting ear infections?
A :

Recurring ear infections are often a symptom of an underlying allergy – identifying and treating the root cause is essential to prevent recurrence. Ear cytology helps determine the organisms involved and guides appropriate treatment. Tel. 02-079-9999

Q : Can skin conditions spread from pets to people?
A :

Some skin conditions such as ringworm and scabies mites can be zoonotic. However, most common allergic and bacterial skin problems in pets are not transmissible to humans. Consult your vet if you are concerned.
