FAQ

Q : Why does a cat need a separate clinic from dogs?
A :

Cats are easily stressed by the sight, sound, and smell of dogs. A cat-only environment reduces stress, improves examination accuracy, and lowers the risk of disease transmission. Thonglor Pet Hospital holds ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation.

Q : What does ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic certification mean?
A :

The International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) accreditation confirms that the clinic meets international standards for cat-friendly facilities, handling, and care – ensuring the best experience for cats and their owners.

Q : How often should a cat have a health check?
A :

Cats under 7 years: annually. Cats 7–10 years: every 6 months. Senior cats over 10 years: every 3–6 months, as age-related diseases progress rapidly. Tel. 02-079-9999

Q : My cat is not eating – when should I go to the vet?
A :

If a cat stops eating for more than 24–48 hours, seek veterinary attention as soon as possible. Prolonged anorexia can cause hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease), which can be life-threatening. Tel. 02-079-9999

Q : Can cats get dental disease?
A :

Yes – over 70% of cats over 3 years old have some degree of dental disease. Regular dental examinations and professional scaling prevent pain, infection, and organ damage caused by bacteria entering the bloodstream.
