Official Statement from Thonglor Pet Hospital (Rangsit Branch)

Subject: Diagnostic Examination Report for "Nong Yak-Dai"

Following the claim made by Mr. Athit Ritsitthangkun, the owner of a Shih Tzu named "Nong Yak-Dai," stating that the dog exhibited blindness and circling behavior after jumping from a grooming table during a service on August 23, 2024; Thonglor Pet Hospital has provided continuous care and monitoring from the date of notification on August 26, 2024, until November 3, 2024.
The hospital’s comprehensive diagnostic findings are as follows:

1. Ophthalmological Evaluation (Vision Test)
The examination results show that the dog maintains a normal Menace Response (reaction to visual stimuli) and a normal Dazzle Reflex (reaction to light). Furthermore, the dog demonstrated the ability to navigate around obstacles (as shown in the attached video). These findings conclude that the dog does not have vision impairments that lead to blindness.

2. Neurological Diagnosis

The dog exhibited circling behavior to the right, which has been primarily diagnosed as Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (CCD)—a degenerative brain condition common in senior dogs. This condition is entirely unrelated to the incident of jumping from the grooming table. Thonglor Pet Hospital (Rangsit Branch) hereby clarifies that the aforementioned incident did not cause blindness. The circling behavior is a direct result of age-related degeneration, based on the clinical examination and expert diagnosis of our veterinary team.
