Precision and Safety in Feline Blood Transfusions

Understanding Feline Blood Groups

Cat blood types are classified into three groups: A, B, and AB.

Once the blood type is identified, our veterinarians perform a Crossmatch test. This is a critical safety step to ensure compatibility between the donor's red blood cells/plasma and the recipient's antibodies, preventing life-threatening reactions.

Rigorous Monitoring During Transfusion

Safety is our absolute priority. Monitoring for a Transfusion Reaction (adverse reaction) is essential and requires constant vigilance. We follow a strict clinical schedule to observe the patient's condition throughout the procedure. Our medical team monitors these 5 key vital signs

  1. Heart Rate
  2. Respiratory Rate
  3. Temperature
  4. Blood Pressure
  5. Mucous Membrane

Our team of veterinarians and nurses provides continuous care before, during, and after the transfusion. To maintain blood quality and prevent contamination, the entire transfusion process is strictly completed within 4 hours.
