Doctor, help! I got venom sprayed in my eyes!

Little Siouxsee was sprayed directly in the eye by a cobra, causing severe redness, swelling, and inflammation within just minutes. Dr. Bam and the veterinary team acted quickly to save Siouxsee’s vision.

Treatment included:

  • Eye irrigation to flush out the venom and reduce irritation
  • Thorough ophthalmic examination
  • Eye drops every 2 hours
  • Hospital admission for 24-hour monitoring of eye pressure and swelling

By the next morning, Siouxsee’s condition had clearly improved! She’s now safe and back home for continued recovery

Important Reminder for Pet Parents:

If your pet suddenly shows signs of red, swollen, or irritated eyes, don’t wait!

Immediate treatment can make all the difference and can even prevent permanent blindness.

Watch for symptoms like:

  • Red or swollen eyes
  • Excessive tearing or discharge
  • Frequent blinking, pawing at the eye, or avoiding light

If you notice any of these, consult your veterinarian right away. Because your pet’s vision is key to their quality of life.
