Living with pain shouldn't be a pet's normal. 'Ying Yam' was recently diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia along with a fractured femoral head. This condition can often be congenital, appearing early in life, and is easily aggravated by daily activities or minor accidents. To eliminate the source of her constant discomfort, our orthopedic surgeons performed a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO)—a procedure to remove the damaged head of the femur. By removing the bone-on-bone contact, we can significantly reduce pain and help her regain mobility. This surgery is a life-changing step toward ensuring Ying Yam can enjoy a comfortable, active life once again.

Surgery is only the first step; successful recovery depends on specialized rehabilitation. For cases like Ying Yam, our physical therapy program begins just 5 days after surgery with a focus on reducing pain and inflammation through a multimodal approach Laser Therapy Applied around the surgical site to accelerate tissue healing and minimize inflammation.Ultrasound Therapy Targeted at the surgical muscle groups to relieve deep-seated pain and promote muscle relaxation.Cold Compression The final soothing step to calm the muscles and prevent post-treatment swelling.
This intensive sessions are performed twice a week. Once the patient begins to bear weight on the leg, we transition to Treadmill Training to rebuild muscle strength. For pets who find the treadmill challenging, Hydrotherapy (Swimming) is an excellent, low-impact alternative that makes exercise both fun and highly effective for joint recovery.
