From Sniffles to Smiles: Alice’s Recovery from Cat Flu

Meet 'Alice,' a Scottish Fold kitten who originally visited Thonglor Pet Hospital (Ramintra Branch) for a routine vaccination. However, during her physical exam, Dr. Naphat noticed Alice was lethargic, with heavy tearing, nasal discharge, and sneezing. These symptoms pointed to Feline Upper Respiratory Infection (Cat Flu), complicated by a corneal ulcer.

After a course of oral medication and specialized eye drops, Alice has officially made a full recovery and is now ready for her next vaccine!

Understanding Cat Flu

Cat flu is common in kittens due to their developing immune systems. It can be caused by various viruses and bacteria affecting both the upper and lower respiratory tracts.

  • Common Symptoms: Eye pain/ulcers, nasal discharge, mouth sores, and in severe cases, pneumonia.
  • Diagnosis: Based on clinical signs, blood work, and chest X-rays.
