Common Causes of Appetite Loss

• Oral Issues : Swollen or bleeding gums can indicate gingivitis or oral tumors, making it painful for pets to eat.
• Digestive Problems : Refusing food may be caused by indigestion from snacks or accidentally swallowing foreign objects (like small toys), leading to abdominal pain.
• Dehydration : Lack of fluids affects appetite as blood circulation decreases, leaving the pet lethargic and weak.
• Picky Eating : Over time, pets may develop a dislike for certain ingredients. Adding new "toppers" can help stimulate their appetite.

How to Handle a Loss of Appetite

• Switch Flavors : Just like us, pets get bored of the same food! Try a new formula by gradually mixing it with the old one (proportions: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%).
• Add Wet Food : Mix in some wet food to enhance the texture and aroma, as most pets find it more appealing than dry kibble.
• Warm Up the Meal : Warming the food slightly brings out its aroma, making it more enticing. For dry food, adding a bit of warm water can also help.
• Increase Exercise : Physical activity burns energy, which naturally stimulates hunger and strengthens their overall health.
