1. The Smell Test The simplest way! Try sniffing their breath while they are asleep to avoid any struggle.
2. Lip Check Gently lift the lips to inspect the front and side teeth. Do not force the mouth open immediately.
3. The Reveal Wrap your cat in a towel to prevent scratching. Gently tilt the head back (as if giving medicine) and use your other hand to carefully open the jaw.
4. Flashlight Inspection Use the light to look deep inside for redness, lumps, or broken teeth.
5. Reward Time Always give them a treat immediately after for being a good patient!
