Generally, a dog's urine color falls within the yellow tone range, which can shift to a darker or lighter yellow depending on several factors that affect urine color, such as how much water your dog drinks each day, hot weather, or medications and food consumed at that time. Normal urine color in dogs tends to be a soft, pale yellow, with no sediment, though some dogs may show a small amount of sediment. It can range up to a darker urine color, which may result from drinking less water during that period.

The Main Abnormal Urine Colors Found in Dogs Are:

• Red -- this may be caused by conditions in the urinary tract system, such as bladder stones, cystitis, reproductive system diseases, or blood system disorders (certain blood parasites, or muscle inflammation conditions).
• Pale, clear, light yellow -- this may indicate a possible problem with the upper urinary tract system, such as chronic kidney failure, or certain hormonal disorders.
• Dark brown or cola-colored -- this color carries a high risk that your dog may have liver disease, gallbladder disease, blood system disorders, or certain infectious diseases.
• Green or blue -- this urine color is usually seen after a dog has been exposed to certain chemicals, or has a certain type of urinary tract infection. If you notice your dog's urine in this color, bring them to see a veterinarian immediately.
