แมวเบ่งฉี่นาน สัญญาณ ’โรคนิ่วในทางเดินปัสสาวะ’

น้องเจเจถูกพามาด้วยอาการเบ่งฉี่นาน เข้ากระบะทรายบ่อย แต่ฉี่ออกน้อย สุดท้ายพบว่าเกิดจาก ’นิ่วอุดตันปลายท่อปัสสาวะ’ คุณหมอ X-ray พบก้อนนิ่วเล็กๆ 4 ก้อน อุดตันบริเวณปลายท่อปัสสาวะของน้อง ต้องรีบสวนท่อปัสสาวะ และวางแผนผ่าตัดเพื่อเอานิ่วออก ตอนนี้น้องฟื้นตัวดี กลับมาปัสสาวะได้ปกติแล้วค่ะ

อาการเบื้องต้นที่เจ้าของไม่ควรมองข้าม:

เข้ากระบะทรายนานผิดปกติ

เบ่งฉี่นาน แต่ฉี่ออกน้อย

ฉี่กะปริดกะปรอย หรือมีสีผิดปกติ

ส่งเสียงร้องตอนปัสสาวะ

โรคนิ่วเป็นโรคที่พบได้บ่อยมากในแมว ถ้าปล่อยไว้...อาจถึงขั้นติดเชื้อรุนแรง หรือไตวายได้เลย ถ้าคุณพ่อคุณแม่เห็นพฤติกรรมการฉี่ที่ผิดปกติของน้องแมว อย่าชะล่าใจให้รีบพามาหาคุณหมอ เพราะน้องอาจกำลังเป็นนิ่วในทางเดินปัสสาวะอยู่ก็ได้นะคะ

JJ the cat was brought in after showing signs of frequent litter box visits and straining to urinate but producing very little urine. After an X-ray, vets discovered 4 small bladder stones blocking the tip of his urethra

Emergency care was needed:

A urinary catheter was placed to relieve the blockage, and surgery was planned to remove all the stones. We’re happy to report that JJ is now fully recovered and can urinate normally again!

Signs cat parents should never ignore:

Spending too long in the litter box

Straining to urinate, but little to no urine

Dribbling urine or abnormal color

Crying or showing discomfort while urinating

Urinary tract stones are more common in cats than many realize. If left untreated, they can lead to serious infections or even kidney failure. If you notice these signs in your cat, don’t wait see your vet immediately. Your fur baby might be battling more than just a stubborn bladder.
